John V. Elmore

With over 37 years of experience, John V. Elmore is a personal injury attorney with The Law Offices of John V. Elmore, P.C..  Mr. Elmore represents clients in Buffalo, New York, and the surrounding metropolitan areas in cases of wrongful death, injury on property, dangerous products, nursing home abuse, medical mistakes, sexual abuse, motor vehicle accidents, slip-and-fall injuries, construction accidents, brain injuries, premises liability and trucking accidents. Extensively experienced in both state and federal  court matters, he has been named the Citizen of the Year by The Buffalo News, and received the Community Service Award from the Minority Bar Association and the Criminal Justice Award from the Erie County Bar Association, along with many other service and professional awards. In 2021, Mr. Elmore was awarded the Erie County Bar Association Attorney of the year which is the highest honor of the 4,000 member Erie County Bar Association   Mr. Elmore is a former Manhattan Assistant District Attorney and New York State  Assistant Attorney General.In 1985, Mr. Elmore graduated from Syracuse University College of Law with his Juris Doctor. He is now a member of  the Bar Association of Erie County and Western New York Trial Lawyers Association. The governor appointed him as chairperson of the 4th Department of the Judicial Screening Committee and to serve on the New York Judicial Screening Committee.Actively involved in his community, Mr. Elmore formerly served as a member on the New York State Commission on Indigent Defense. He is a lifetime member of the NAACP, has served for 7 years  as a trustee of Erie Community College and is a former member of the United States District Court Western District of New York’s Magistrate Selection Committee. Mr. Elmore volunteers his time as a certified USA boxing coach, referee and judge.
